Players To Miss Start Of Season

By Simon Cullum

Up to five players could miss the opening games of the new league season.

Following his sending off against Needham Market, striker Charles Libam has been given a four game ban, effective from the opening match of the season - This is an additional game to usual as this was his second dismissal of the season. Defender Martin McNeil will also miss the opening game, as he completes his final match of his three game suspension for his red card at Mildenhall Town towards the end of the last campaign. Midfielder Scott Carter is going into hospital tomorrow for an operation on his groin, and is expected to be back in training in about a months time. Striker Andy Furnell has also had the same operation, and is expected to return to light training in the next couple of weeks, so depending upon how this goes, there is a possibility he could be fit for the start of the season. Scott Johnson is also unavailable for the Romulus game as he will be away on holiday.
