King's penalty not enough against Ashford

It was a tough week for S&B 1st XI as they travelled to Kent to play Ashford 1s. Missing key members of their team due to various reasons, a number of players were called up. Making their debuts, Lily Cole and Ella White held the centre midfield superbly. Ashford were the first to score but S&B were matching them and Claire King scored with a powerful penalty corner strike. The half time score was 1-1 and S&B were feeling more optimistic. However Ashford scored first from a short corner into the left corner followed by another from open play. S&B went down to 10 players as Ashford continued to find the back of the net. Final score 6-1.
