Stafford 3s travelled down the M6 to Walsall for their first league game of the season. The pitch conditions were prefect as the match was played on the new Walsall 4G pitch.
The teams both started well and traded scores throughout the duration of the first half. The highlight for Stafford came when Andrew 'Rew' Carter combined superbly with James 'Wilko' Wilkinson by sending a lovely inside ball to allow him to storm through the gap and score underneath the posts.
The second half was also a close affair before a few late tries from Walsall secured their victory. The Stafford defence continued to work hard even when they lost a few players to injury. It was a great performance from all involved. A special mention must also go to Rich Whatling who managed to bag himself four tries!
