Three minutes after kick-off Stamford had the lead, Rob Morgan picked the ball up before running from the half way line into a shooting area and rifled it into the top corner. Fifteen minutes later a Stamford Trialist battled to win a ball, having fought with four defenders, he fired a shot off but this was an easy save.
Three minutes later the Trialist was again involved as he shot from range but his shot cannoned of the bar. A minute later Jake Duffy struck a free-kick but it was comfortably saved. Dan Schiavi had Deeping’s first chance of the game as he cut inside and curled a shot just wide of the post. Just before the break John King ran at the defence and shot just wide.
Just after the break some nice play by the Trialist led to Rob Morgan being able to shoot but it was deflected wide. Ten minutes before the break Deeping had a goal disallowed for offside. On the 60th minute the Trialist turned his defender before shooting but this was an easy save for the Deeping Goalkeeper. With ten minutes to go, from a set-piece, Charlie Ward looped a header over Dan Haystead.
