In the first ten minutes of the game Stamford had the most of the ball with good chances falling to Stan Mugisha and Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson.
A quarter of an hour in and the Daniels had the lead, a great pass from Jake Duffy picked out Rob Morgan who controlled well before squaring to Stan Mugisha who finished off a fine goal. Three minutes later and it could have been two as a low cross found Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson in the six yard area but he could not apply the finishing touch. Sutton Coldfield had their first chance of the game on the 20th minute as a trialist had a shot from range which was easily saved by Danny Haystead. Leo Brown was then played in on goal for the visitors but some last ditch defending saw the ball put out of play for a corner. Five minutes before the break and another chance fell to Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson, this time he was played in on goal but his shot was straight at the keeper. Omar Haughton had the last chance of the half as he his the post after cutting in from the win.
Dom Dell had the first chance of the second half after five minutes but his shot was straight at the keeper. Twenty minutes later a great run from Rob Morgan saw him in on goal after beating three men but he could not beat the keeper. Eight minutes later some great work between Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson and the returning Henry Eze saw Tomlinson shoot wide. Two minutes after this chance a long range effort by Jordan Nadat was brilliantly saved by Danny Haystead. In the final minutes of the game the Daniels had the last chances of the game as a Cleveland Taylor free-kick went narrowly over the bar before a Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson effort went just wide.
