The 21 players who took to the field on Saturday did St Austell RFC proud with a brilliant display that pushed Wadebridge Camels to the limit. In a magnificent advert for Cornish rugby, the Saints were pressing hard at the death but could not find the elusive score that would bring the Cup home to Tregorrick.
Inspired by the tales from the team of 1978, the Saints showed their potential to more than compete with South West One side Camels. Follow this link for the full match report.
As memorable as the game itself was the sight of Saints' young and old joined together in song in the bar at Penryn.
