Magpies take on Brackley in George Butler Memorial Cup

Steeple Claydon Football Club take on Brackley Sports in the George Butler Memorial Cup this Wednesday evening (11th September).

The game also serves as the first round of the Buckingham Charity Cup with the victors taking home a trophy and a place in the second round of the competition.

Claydon were humbled by Stewkley in the same cup final last season, beaten 9-2 after taking an early lead and impressing for the opening 20 minutes. An entertaining game between Brackley and Claydon followed in the Charity Cup 1st Round with Brackley coming out on top with a comprehensive 9-3 win.

Brackley now only have the one senior side and currently sit 10th in the Intermediate Division with a draw and a defeat from their opening two league games. Claydon will need to start brightly and early as well as containing the threat from Ryan Arnott, Michael Gray and Ollie Collier who have notched 5 goals between them in 4 games (including friendlies).
