The game was always going to be tight with the two sides having extremely similar league records, and that's exactly what happened as MK Wanderers and Steeple Claydon Football Club played out an entertaining 1-1 draw.
After a sudden downour at the start of the game, the chances of playing decent football from either side fell by the wayside with MK Wanderers taking advantage of opportunities handed to them nicking a 1-0 lead into half time.
In the second half, hard battling work by Liam Roberts won the ball in mindfield, played the ball on to George Carpenter, who threaded a beautiful through-ball to Jacob Hodgins to slot the ball into the net for the equaliser. Hodgins had a similar opportunity at the death, but couldn't quite convert forcing a good save from the Wanderer's 'keeper.
Wanderers have a game in hand over the Magpies so the result favours them, but the important aspect of the game was for Claydon to avoid defeat after a decent run of league results.
