With only ten players available to start the game and a stand-in goalkeeper, Sutton earned a creditable and hard-fought draw against West Brom
Playing against the wind in the first-half, Sutton created several clear-cut openings but failed to capitalise on them and were also pegged back by West Brom’s long-ball game using the elements to their advantage
Sutton eventually went ahead from a penalty just before the break when Osman broke free and was brought down by the goalkeeper
Lewis calmly slotted home to give The Royals a 1-0 lead at the break
Immediately after the break West Brom drew level with a penalty of their own after a goalmouth scramble led to a handball in the box
The game then swung from end to end, Sutton creating chances with some neat passing moves, whilst West Brom continued to look for the long ball over the top
The game became even more challenging for Sutton when Carly Ayre had to withdraw with an ankle injury midway through the second half
A draw was a fair result for both teams in an entertaining game
