Thirsk Junior joins GB Lions.

A report by Dan.

Dan Garlick, Joseph O’Gorman and Matty Rayner were selected to play for the North East Regional U13 boys team, a process that started in the autumn of 2016. Once selected for the North East they trained and played at venues from Lincoln to Gateshead. The aim was to play and win a competition with other regional & national teams from across the UK. This took place in Beeston in early June, the North East sadly didn’t win the competition, that has been running from 1996, however from this Dan Garlick's effort was recognised and he was selected to play for the UK Lions.
As a UK Lion he will train regularly with his team across the UK and play games with other regional and national sides, including tours of Sardinia and Ulster.
This was his second time representing the North East and he tried harder this year to get selected when he didn’t make the UK Lions in 2016. Dan commented "When I got the letter it felt that nothing could go wrong. The week after was also a great weekend as I went for my Performance Centre assessment and have just found out that I got in. So all in all a good season!"
