This was an epic game against two evenly balanced sides fighting out in the league.
Tows edged ahead to start 7-0 but then Welli took the lead with a couple of break away tries and some luck going there way to go 19-7 ahead, a scoreline maybe slightly more than the balance of play was indicating.
The lads stuck at it and showed great mindset battling back brilliantly though to show how much we have improved over the last couple of years to take the lead 21-19 with some determined and aggressive play.
Welli put us under amazing pressure for the last 5-10 mins but we dogged it out with some tough defending to take the honours and league points.
Thanks to our hosts for a great game, we had a feeling this was a knife edge kind of match and it was going to be very tight, today we did just enough to earn it.
Some bad knews though, it’s confirmed that Ike has broken his wrist after coming off injured from a ruck. Looks like a few weeks on the sidelines. Get well soon kiddo!
Thanks to all the lads and parents for your continued support and patience while we navigate through these tricky and competitive fixtures in the 1st half of the season.
