Bongs fail to recover, after two quick yellows

All seemed well with over thirty minutes played. Tyldesley had played some good stuff and deservedly led 17-0, but two yellow cards in quick succession, gave Bowden the upper hand, from which Bongs never recovered.

Jack Kirkpatrick crossed after just three minutes, on the back of some great build up play and a telling pass from Andy Mcentee.

Bongs defended well for a while, before advancing towards the visitor’s line and crossed for a second unconverted try, after Mcentee touched for a great individual score.

Pressing defense around the visitors twenty two, aided a third try before Jake Dyson touched down, Paul Martin added the extra two.

Bowden crossed for their first converted try in the thirty third minute, seconds after the first card was shown, which was repeated, after a second yellow, with just a minute of the half remaining, 17 -14.

Still with their numerical advantage, and with renewed confidence,Bowden crossed for two further unconverted tries, within six minutes of the restart.

Despite being back too full strength, a now, very disjointed and tired looking Tyldesley, did their best, but Bowden cut through at times, with ease, and breached the host’s line for another five tries, one converted.

MOM Andy Mcentee

A massive thanks you to Match sponsor Ian Pritchard and every past player who attended.

Tyldesley seconds also fell to a second successive defeat, 27-22 at third placed Chorley, but can still go up as champions next week, with a win, in their final game, of a very successful season.
