We are always welcoming of all rugby players or student-athletes who are interested in playing rugby (both undergraduate and graduate students). No prior experience is necessary
Over the last 10 years, DU Rugby has competed in two final fours and has been ranked as high as #3 in the country. In 2020 we were Top 8 sevens team in the country representing our frontier region in the CRC's. DU Rugby is two times Las Vegas 7s Champions (2019, 2020). We have placed players on the Collegiate All-American team and the NSCRO all-star team. Many of these players had no rugby experience prior to attending the University of Denver.
DU Rugby is fortunate to have access to some of the finest facilities and coaching in the country. With the Diane Wendt Sports Fields serving as the DU Rugby home field as well as access to the Pat Bowlen Training Center for strength and conditioning.
We will train four days per week, weight room on Mondays and Wednesdays 630-730pm. Field Practice is Tuesdays and Thursdays 730-9pm. We play 15s in the Fall/Winter and then shift to 7s where we play through the Spring. in the fall season due to the limited time prior to the game schedule. DU Rugby competes in the High Peaks Collegiate Rugby Conference, where we play D1A, D2 & D3 teams in a hybrid league.
