In the penultimate game of the season, Luton Town & Indians 4ths batted first. After a rocky start, on 38 for 3, the visitors had a 4th wicket stand of 120 between opener Janek Trivedi (62) and #5 bat Ricky Patel (46), spanning 23 overs.
The introduction of Matt Gilewicz to the bowling attack instantly brought an end to the partnership though, taking both their wickets in his first two overs. Matt then continued to take 4 more wickets for just 16 runs to bowl Luton Town all out for 191, only 32 more runs after the 4th wicket partnership was ended.
Unfortunately, despite good knocks from Andy Milton, Steve Lerigo, Hugh Reid and man of the match - Matt Gilewicz, Ware couldn't reach the 192 target, ending 21 runs short. Luton Town & Indians bowled well and Ware's run rate was too slow early on, forcing too aggressive batting at the end.
Lastly, many fielding mistakes were made by both teams, but Ware especially, putting down a number of catches and giving over throws. Also thank you to Graeme Unwin for Umpiring both innings, and thank you to everyone who brought food for our special cricket tea, Steve Risby's curry being the highlight!
The final match of the league season next week is a must win relegation battle against Hertford 4ths.
