The Frensham skipper Stuart Burnett, lead from the front scoring a masterful 85 as he opened the home side’s innings and guided his team to a reasonable 215–7 at tea. Richard Champneys, Adam Pailing and Harvey Herrington all chipped in making double figures to assist their side’s total. For the visitors, no-one’s bowling was put to the sword and frequent changes were made on a very hot afternoon.
Jim Wright and Stuart Webb opened for Waverley putting on 124 in 20 overs before both fell within 4 balls, bowled and stumped. Adam Page, Frensham’s Mr Reliable, was brought into the attack and soon took wickets including that of the visiting skipper Simon Brewer, caught on the boundary after some lusty blows. At this point Russ Golding and Sam Vass saw the visitors home, concluding an excellent game of cricket.
