It was cold, wet and the pitch was heavy, but the Gaffer set about making sure the team were prepared.
Well what ever he said worked, as the Owls came out flying and were 3 up after 8 minutes!!!!!
On 3 mins some after some quick play down the left flank, JT found the time to look up and pick out a target in the six yard box. Fair play to Joes self belief choosing to pick out the shortest man in the box. Hardiman finding space and heading home from 6 yards out.
I had not finished typing the first goal into the phone before the Owls made it two!!!!! A shot by Mr Robertson rebounding back to JT, who smash it home. On 8 mins it was 3 as JT now full of gusto went on a winding run and finally smashed the ball into the far corner from 20 yards, leaving his mate (Patchway's keeper) standing.
We were then just starting to get cold on the side lines, almost 10 mins with no goals!!!!! but alas, yet another run from JT was finished with an exaggerated overhead kick from Scouse. 4-0!!!!!
25 mins into the game and Sheldon finally had enough of his fellow winger getting all the praise and after a lovely through ball from Hardiman, Sheldon danced his way past 2 players and JTs mate to slot home from an acute angle.
35 mins gone and a single effort from Scouse made it 6-0!!!!! Doing what all good strikers do Scouse found himself in the right place to finish off some poor defending.
So the gaffers half time team talk was very hard. We needed to keep going, not sit back and finish the game winning 6-0, but put the Town to the sword...... Simples.
It took 1 minute for Hardiman to show he was still up for it, after a get turn and some sublime footwork from the "Ghost" Alex he slid in Hardiman to coolly finish 7-0.
On 54 mins Scouse got his Hattrick and had Mr Robertson to thank for his unselfish play, instead of shooting he waited for Scouse to catch him up and left him an easy finish.
59 mins Hardiman turned assist and fed the ball to Mr Robertson who found the back of the net via the far post. Ten mins later the Ghost yet again found space and crossed for young Max (son of Flanagan) to score on his Debut. A hint of O.G about it, but the ref said it was Max's goal.
71 mins and JT became the second player of the day to get a Hattrick and slotted home from 12 yards out after another assist from Mr Robertson.
On 82 mins, Scouse threw his shinnys on the floor as JT got his 4th of the day. Although he did need a lot of help from his mate in the Patchway Goal!!!!
So an unbelievable 12-0 score line to the Mighty Owls, but it will mean nothing if we don't continue to produce!!!!
MOM: JT
Howler: Micky Flanagan (Init Kis!!!)
