Playing into the strong wind the Wanderers demonstrated good control by retaining possession rather than trying to kick for field position.
Strong surges from Jake Saddington, Chris Griffiths and man of the match, Dave Whiting ensured the Walsall defence was constantly on the alert.
The Wanderers were a threat but, Walsall's defence was solid.

Walsall began the second half with far more determination than the Wanderers but, couldn't find a way through the Wanderers scramble defence, finally, a fine midfield tackle from Whiting gave the Wanderers the initiative and tries from Matt Marskell and Tom Saddington, converted by Meadows gave Walsall a mountain to climb.
Walsall responded to the challenge with a fine try and went in search of a bonus point fourth try, the Wanderers regrouped to deny Walsall in what had been a very good game.
