Season 2017 preview

Following the AGM in February the following club officers and captains were elected;

President- David Greenlees
Chairman- Mark Shields
Treasurer and Secretary- Jackie Quinn

1st XI Captain- Andrew Magee
2nd XI Captain- Adam Sloan
3rd Xi Captain- Adam Wilson
MW Captain- Andy McCormick

Youth Covenor- Darrell Martin
Youth Coach- Brad Parry

Pre-season started in February at the BRA Sports hall and continues to run on Wednesday evenings. It has been great to see some old and news faces dusting off their kit and honing their skills ahead of what promises to be an exciting new season.

Matches kick off in April with a busy pre-season weekend planned for the 21st and 22nd (weather permitting!). Friday night sees the 1st XI take on our friends from across town Derriaghy in a T20 game at The Fort. Saturday there will be an interclub trial game again at The Fort. Anyone wishing to play should contact Andrew Magee or Chris Halliday ASAP.

Following the game there will be a social get together and BBQ generously hosted by our sponsors Tweedies Bar, Parkgate. Prices to be confirmed but it is sure to be an excellent night to meet and chat about the summer ahead.

The competitive season starts on 29th April with the 1st XI travelling to Lurgan in the AJ Gallagher Challenge Cup. On May Day the 1st XI host neighbours Cliftonville in their opening league game at The Castle. The 2nd XI start their season on the 6th May against Downpatrick with the 3rd XI playing Carrickfergus on 20th May.

The committee are working tirelessly behind the scenes and hope to make some further announcements in the coming weeks about exciting new sponsors and social events so keep an eye out for those.
