PREVIEW: AFC Emley vs Hallam

Emley's struggle to maintain consistency may well be their downfall this season. A depleted squad has made it incredibly difficult to string together a fruitful run of results, but a win against Hallam tommorow night would certainly send them in the right direction.

Matty Waller returned to the starting 11 on Saturday despite going off injured in last Wednesday's fixture against Hall Green United. The lack of numbers means valuable opportunities have arose for the Under 19's, the talented Tom Gomersall made the bench for Joe Howson's side on Saturday.

Sitting in 9th position, Hallam will be looking to create a larger points gap between Emley, the home side could go level with Hallam should they grasp the 3 points. But first they must keep the dangerous Mitchell Dunne at bay, the striker has scored 14 goals this season, the 5th highest tally in the league.

Despite a 4-1 loss to Dronfield town last time out, Hallam collected points against some of the leagues high flyers last month. Drawing 2-2 with top of the league Knaresborough and beating fourth place Grimsby Borough. They scored a resounding 24 goals in 8 games during October.

Both teams progressed in the Sheffield and Hallamshire Senior Cup last week, however focus now switches back to the league, with both teams looking to bounce back from weekend defeats and get back into winning ways.
