France V Scotland

Busy clubhouse for Grant's debut

Despite both 1sts & 2nds suffering defeats earlier on in the day, spirits were high in the evening (helped by the "Auld Enemies" failure to clinch a Grand Slam) for the eagerly awaited international début of former Alloa RFC player, Grant Gilchrist and it is fair to say that their was a lump or two in some throats as the camera's panned along the line up for the anthems.
Grant did everyone proud with his performance and the noise levels within the club were incredible every time the big man touched the ball.
This was indeed a proud moment, not only for Grant, but for his family and everyone concerned at ARFC, which was confirmed by a quick call to the club direct from the Stade de France from his father and former ARFC Captain, Tommy midway through the 2nd half.
Grant text Scott Harrison the next day to say that it was an amazing experience and he can't wait to experience it again.
Thanks to everyone for contributing to a memorable day, especially the ladies for providing much needed sustenance during the matches.
Please see the "Album" section below for some photos of the evening.
