NO DOGS!

Barracks Lane playing fields become a DOG FREE ZONE...

Following a meeting with the King George V Trust this week we are happy to announce that our playing fields are now a dog free zone.
Dogs and Dog walking are no longer permitted on the playing fields at Barracks Lane due to the high amount of dog mess that has over the last year spoiled our pitches and playing/training experience.
Over the past month alone we have had x4 incidents where members both junior and senior have come into contact with dog mess. An experience nobody wishes to have and i'm sure everyone is aware of the health implications that can be associated with this.
We are a club that are looking to protect our members whilst also looking to improve our facilities for them and the visitors we get weekly. With the new pitch project on the plateau coming to its final stage we felt this ban necessary and being the best way to go forward as a club.
If dog walkers are on the premises all club members have the power and are within their right to politely ask them to leave the area.

We are aware that this will upset many local responsible dog owners who use the area to bring their pets and we apologise to them but unfortunately a minority of dog owners have left us with little choice as this is a serious risk to our playing members.
