Baldock went away to North London based Brimsdown, this season ground sharing with Haringey Borough in the White Hart Lane area of Tottenham.
The 4g pitch was perfection itself but oh my life was it HOT! It was a beautiful sunny day and the sun beat down on to the astro pitch which made it even hotter.
Five minutes in and Baldock were already looking dangerous from the set pieces. Both Luke Gregson and Stuart Pearson getting close to the goal but denied.
On the 12th minute, Luke Barker had a free header from 6 years but sent the ball wide of the post.
Dean Gilbert got a booking in the 19th minute which would lead to the penalty spot being pointed to. However, Jack Farmer made himself big and wide in goal and blocked the shot. So it was still 0-0
Then the fast young loanee from Hitchin, Josh Coley started to make a nuisance of himself, being busy and getting in and around the opposition. All this finally culminated in a goal from the youngster on the 26th Minute after a double block from the opposition keeper, he finally got the ball into the back of the net. 0-1 to BALDOCK
There was plenty of space for Brimsdown's 11 who kept finding himself high, wide and unmarked, but he was unable to outfox Brooks who was pretty much running the whole of the pitch at times. Anytime the 11 got the ball, Brooks would be there to take it off him.
Eventually though Brimsdown scored on the 40th minute, breaking down the right and then squaring for the tap in.
On 44mins Gregson hits the post and Lewis Barker was unable to do anything with the re-bound which went over the bar.
Both teams going into the dressing room at half time with the game 1-1
Coming out after the break with plenty of fluids taken on, the pace didn't lessen. Baldock made a substitution bringing on Owen Robertson and subbing off Jack Mordecai.
Two minutes later on 58 Freddie Morris gets a knee onto an Alex Coppin cross and the visitors were back in the lead. 1-2 to Baldock. However, in the 64th minute Brimsdown equalised with a long range strike and scored.
Stuart Pearson was denied again, hitting the post in the 80th minute.
On 88 minutes a long throw in from Stuart Pearson - then Freddie Morris scores - only to have the goal disallowed for the throw falling offside.
With Josh Furness having a clash and getting a nasty head injury in the 89th minute, Liam Kenna came on to the pitch for the dying minutes to replace him.
A free kick on the left hand side, Coppin gets fouled, the ball falls to Freddie Morris who puts it over the goal.
Final whistle 2-2
Baldock were clearly the better team on the day and should probably scored from the chances. But a draw is a point and a point counts!
Josh Furness update - 19 stitches and a very sore head. Today was his 249 appearance for Baldock Town FC. What a dependable player he is. We look forward to him returning to the fray very soon and wish him well in his recovery.
