This was another landside success for the home side who racked up 8 tries in what was their last home fixture of the season.
The Newport side came with a jumbo pack but apart from a short period in the second half were unable to make an impression on a buoyed up Beaufort eight. However, it was a poor start from Beaufort with little momentum caused through a raft of handling errors and infringements . Fi Standoff Darrel Roper got them underway when he latched on to a final pass from a drive for the line to crash over under the posts. Lewis Hodson improved the score with a conversion then almost from the restart finished off a splendid round of passing with a dazzling side step to outwit the covering fullback. His conversion was on target and Beaufort were now in full control. A sixty yard dash from flanker Jason Taylor got the next courtescy of a perfectly weighted pass from lock Mark Heasely and before the half time whistle good work at the lineout set up the platform for lock Matthew Hopkins to crash over for Beaufort's bonus point try . Hodson kicked both conversions stretching the lead to 28 points without reply at the break
