Two in and one out at the Meadow

Matlock Town midfield player, Steve Warne (pictured) has signed on a month's loan from our Derbyshire neighbours. A forceful midfield player Steve is a former Chesterfield midfielder who joined Matlock from Alfreton Town for a second spell with the Gladiators in the summer of 2008. He had originally joined Matlock on loan from Hucknall Town towards the end of the 2003/04 season before making the move permanent in 2004/05.

He is hugely popular with the Matlock fans where has he turned in some highly impressive displays and was the club captain for a period. He was voted as the Players’ Player of the Season in 2008/09.

Meanwhile 29-year-old Jay Lee Hodgson, a current Montserrat international player, has joined the Nailers following his release from Conference North Club, Hinckley United for whom he had signed at the start of the current season, following a successful trial with the Knitters.

Jay Lee started his football career at Heanor Town before moving the short distance to Long Eaton United. He subsequently joined Evo-Stik League, Loughborough Dynamo where he made 15 appearances and scored 7 goals in the 2010–11 season. He was called up to the Montserrat national team this year, scoring both goals in a 5-2 defeat to Belize in a 2014 World Cup qualifying round and scored again in the away tie which also ended in a 3-1 defeat.

Departing from Christchurch Meadow, is central defender, Tommy Hannigan, who has opted to make a return move to Rainworth Miners Welfare, from whom he joined the Nailers at the start of the season.
