Report by Mike Draxler
An early Christmas present from Sam Donkin, replacement goalkeeper gave Biggleswade a share of the points. In a strange first half when Banbury had all the possession, unable to create chances saw the boys in green create chances but not put them away. Kaziboni and Penfold reeked havoc on the wings with Kaziboni being the pick of the day with his mesmerising footwork. On 26 an unfortunate Robbie Parker was deemed to have fouled Banbury 16 Elliot Sandy. The resulting penalty taken by Ricky Johnson, low and hard to the left was brilliantly saved by Sam Donkin, an early present for the boys in front of him. Chances came for the waders but unable to break debutant keeper Niall Clayton. At half time 0-0 was fair and a warm drink a must.
Out for the second period saw the Waders up the pace and take the game to the visitors. Kaziboni down the right flank into Parker and his flick, GOAL. Its as easy as that. Well not quite as the boys in green continued the assault but were unable to put more space between the teams. Getting late and a win on the cards. A free kick half way in the home half was flighted perfectly to the tallest man on the pitch Luke Carnell, whose Alan Gilzean type flick, beat all to settle the affair at one a piece.
A reasonable start to the festive games against a difficult opposition. Up next Bishop's Stortford Boxing day.
