1sts make it 4 from 5 with 3 - 1 win; Reserves suffer heavy defeat

Another comfortable victory on Saturday for the 1st team made it 4 wins from 5 and a move to the top of the Kershaw Premier.

The 1sts hosted Foxton, who were sitting in 1st position on goal difference, at the Cass and were victorious 3 - 1. It was 1 - 1 at half time before CUP stepped it up in the second half to claim the 3 points. The goals came from Benton, Camara and Heron.

The Reserves didn't fair so well in their match on the road at Wisbech St Mary Reserves, going down 9 - 1. Late drop outs meant a squad of 13 became 10 men (which included 3 new signings), who battled valiantly throughout. Townshend scored the CUP goal shortly after half time on an impressive counter attack.

Training resumes tomorrow night, at 6.30 start at the Cass, building ahead of Saturday's match. The 1sts travel to the other promoted side, Ely City Reserves, in the Prem while the Reserves host Needingworth United in Senior B.
