Chichester City take on Cheshire based 1874 Northwich FC in the fifth round of the FA Vase

“Everyone at the club is absolutely buzzing.” Chi Skipper Dan Hegarty

Miles Rutherford's side will face 1874 Northwich FC in the Buildbase FA Vase on Saturday 3rd February, kick off 3pm.

The draw was made on talkSport.

Last weekend's win at Horley Town put Chi into the last 16 in this competition for the first time in the club's history. Three wins away from Wembley.

After another superb cup performance skipper Dan Hegarty said, “It was a very tough game as we knew it would be. They were a decent side. But there were some good performances from all of the team and we managed to get the win.

“The pitch made it difficult for both sides. There was obviously a lot on the line and both teams went for it. We had to get stuck in and put pressure on them and in the end it was all worth it because we're in the next round.

“Everyone at the club is absolutely buzzing. It's a really exciting time and we can't wait to see who we get in the draw."

Speaking after the draw coach Danny Potter said, "We're happy with an away tie. 1874 Northwich have put an impressive run together in all competitions recently. Any of the sides left in the competition would be a tough draw to be honest. We're gearing up for a big week of football."

Chi travel to Horsham YMCA in the rearranged RUR Cup quarter final this Tuesday before facing Hassocks in the premier division on Saturday at the Beacon.
