What a Saturday!!

By MATTHEW STEPHEN

Huge praise is due to all players that contributed to 3 good performances today, even if the results didn't go the right way!!

The 1st XV put in a great performance and could have won against the league leaders Old Pats but ended up losing by a single point 32-33. It was a superb game and the 1st's can take some comfort in getting 2 points although the 5 would have tasted much better.

The 2nd XV put together a comprehensive performance and made a real battle of it against the unbeaten league leaders Corsham 1stXV but lost by 0-14 in what was described by the opponents as 'a tough day at the office'

It was great to see the 3rd's put out a full side against Melksham 2nd's which was played at the new ground and regardless of the great efforts by the assembled Chippenham Gentleman, they came out losing 45-10.

The results sometime don't matter but its the way the game was played and in all three matches, this applies...

Its a weekend off next Saturday for the 6 Nations so plenty of time to regroup, refresh and go again!!
