Quality performance in 7-1 win ...
The 'A' team played host too Barnoldby FC on Saturday 17th October at The Linden Homes Club . The lads were playing in their new kit sponsored by JemBuild Ltd and ABP Ports , with Dave Birch in goal again , Tom Wingate and Joel Mann continuing their promising partnership at Centre back with Alex Dwyer and Harry Crawford playing right and left back . Andy Bradley returned in front of the back four with 16 year old duo Callum DeGruchy and Reece Moody playing in the heart of the pitch , Danny Beecham making his debut played off the front two of Paul Jones and John Willis .
With an impressive start it was Jones who forced the Barnoldby Keeper into a couple of saves , with all the football played it was a long kick out by Birch then found Jones who pulled the ball down before lofting it over the keeper . Willis got on the scoresheet after a great ball across the face of goal was slid in at the back finish with a quality finish . The Owls went in 2 up at the break , but on 55 minutes Beecham converted a brilliant free kick into the top corner giving the keeper no chance , it was Beecham who made it 4-0 with another excellent finish . DeGruchy scored a 5th with an excellent strike from the edge of the box . Barnoldby then scored a consultation goal with a tap in . Willis added a 6th with a solo effort and then completed his hat trick with 3 too go . With the full time score 7-1 it was great too see the football we played be rewarded with a positive result Moody and DeGruchy were exceptional in the middle of the pitch with energy driving the whole team on with 6 players no less coming through the youth ranks at the club and being heavily involved . Reece Moody was chosen as man of the match but everyone more than played their part .
