Academy Weekly Review - Wednesday 2nd August 2017

By Jay Catton

Into the third week of pre season our academy sides enjoyed number of tough fixtures at The Quay 3G.

Saturday morning kicked off with three challenging games for our U8, U9 and U10 sides who faced Wirral and Liverpool based local league teams River Juniors, Ashville and Vauxhall Motors.

Three competitive games against older opposition for some of our sides also with lots of goals on show.

Our under 11s followed with their first taste of full 9v9 action against Allscott AFC.

A very strong performance from the side resulting in an 8-1 victory with full highlights and goals available on the following link:

The final games on Saturday afternoon saw our under 18s fall to a 3-2 defeat to Llandudno Junction Reserves and our under 19s lose 7-2 to Cymru Alliance first team Llandudno Junction with a disappointing performance second half.

Sunday saw the return of Allscott AFC which kicked off against our under 13s who won by five goals to three followed by big wins for our under 14 and 15 sides also.

The academy pre season campaign is now into full swing and we look forward to another great week of training and games ahead.
