Nomads win third game on the bounce.

The ever improving 14’s made it three wins on the bounce in the FAW Academy Cup after an impressive seven one victory over their Druids counter parts.

Nomads started the game in impressive style with George Rathbone and Jack Chambers early efforts on goal only being denied by two great saves from the keeper.

Druids had an early chance themselves to take the lead but were denied by a good save from Mitch Glover in goal.

The breakthrough came after twelve minutes when George Rathbone slotted in Shaun Trousdale who rounded the keeper and finished with ease into an empty net.

Two minutes later it was two when Troutdale’s chip over the keeper was well saved but the parry fell to Chambers who finished well to make it two nil.

Druids pulled one back though soon after when the left sided player hit a fantastic effort from the left wing which sailed over Glover and went into the back of the net. A great finish by the left sided player.

Chambers nearly made it three when Jordan Frazer made a great run on the left wing and crossed into the box but Chambers’ volley went just over.

But Chambers was involved in the third goal after Rathbone sent a great pass through to the winger who crossed in for Trousdale who finished well and grabbed his second.

Three one up Nomads took complete control and passed the ball really well. Tom Bibby made it four after getting on the end of a Rathbone cross before Rathbone himself got on the score sheet with the fifth after a good run and finish after being set away by a Ryan Mackay header.

Nomads final goal came just before the break when a well worked free kick saw Rathbone’s strike come crashing back off the cross bar before an Andy Jones header was well saved before Josh Willis tumbled the ball in for the sixth and final goal.

A fantastic first half performance which saw Nomads go into the break six one up.

The second half was a much slower game with neither side really taking control or creating many chances.

A Druids free kick effort was well saved again by Glover early on as well as Trousdales shot well saved at the other end.

Nomads final goal came after sixty minutes when a quick throw in from Rathbone set Trousdale away who dribbled into the area before smashing home the seventh goal with a great finish ending the game seven one to Nomads. This was Trousdales second hat trick in the last 2 games.

A very impressive performance first half in particular which has given Nomads there third win on the bounce in their final academy cup game until February next year.
