It was only a few weeks ago that Brandon (loosehead)suggested we have a new award that would recognise achievement on a regular basis. The coaches all agreed this was a great idea and devised the 3 criteria on which achievement would be measured - attendance, effort and adherence to RFU Core Values.
The first award for September 2011 was presented last night to
Daniel Hope who has achieved 100% attendance during this month, has demonstrated sustained mental and physical effort and has demonstrated exemplary behaviour particularly with regard to Teamwork, encouraging other players and stepping up to the challenge of playing in a position that is not necessarily his preferred option, and Discipline, always listening to coaches and encouraging others to do the same!
Daniel's father looked on proudly as Daniel accepted his certificate from Andy Gunnell, Director of Sport and Keith Howdle, Head of Minis, who presented this at the request of the U12s coaching team.
We all congratulate Daniel and hope he enjoys reading the book which was also part of the award this month.
We look forward to seeing who will be the next award winner for October!
