U10 October 2016 Fixtures Released!

By Jay Catton

Our new 11 week league and cup finals program kicks off this Friday 14th October with ten sides taking part!

Next Friday 14th October we kick off the new 11 week U10 league and cup programme.

As this Friday is the first event we ask all sides to arrive no later than 20 minutes prior to their kick off times for a briefing of the format and rules.

Due to the distances number of teams are travelling we have also moved kick off times to 18:00 and 19:00 to make easier for all rather than the standard 17:30 and 18:30 kick off times.

From week 2 onwards sides can arrive when they wish as long as they are on the pitch five minutes prior to their allocated kick off times.

Over the first nine weeks all sides will play each other once in a fifty minute game (2x25 minute halfs).

A league table will be recorded with standard three points for a win, one point for a draw etc.

The nine week league programme will see medals and trophy for league winners.

Week 10 and 11 is then our Champions League Cup Finals night. This is a two night cup competition which any side can win over the two evenings. More information on the finals night will be given at a later date.

Cost is just £25 per team per week. This must be paid prior to kick offs at Deeside Leisure Centre reception desk and the receipt must be handed to match official prior to kick off.

Games will not be allowed to kick off until referee has received receipts from both sides.

Games consist of two twenty five minute halfs and are all reffed by Futsal and football Qualified Officials.

As well as officials on all pitches their will be a lead coach running each week where video footage and professional photos will be taken and added to the gap Futsal Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Official Rules of gap Futsal

• Futsal is played on a marked pitch and the ball can go out of play. Unlike 5 a side the game is not played to the walls.

• The ball is a size four and a Futsal specific ball. It is heavier than an average football and has less bounce.

• There are no restrictions as to how high the ball can be kicked

• Rotating substitutions – Players can be rotated as often or as little as possible. When making a substitution the player must go to the designated bench. The player being subbed must be completely off the pitch before this can happen.New rule this year will see teams bench be on the half of the pitch they are defending. At half time sides will now switch benches also. This allowing subs to be a lot smoother. Subs and coaches should always be sat down on the bench and subs ideally bibbed up.

• Kick Ins. When the ball goes out of play it is kicked back in from the touchline and from corners. The ball must be completely stationery on the line. If a moving ball is kicked, a kick in will be given to the opposing side. You can not score directly from kick ins.

• The 4 second rule. For kick-ins, free kicks, goal clearances and corner kicks the player in possession of the ball has 4 seconds to restart play which the referee will count with their fingers in the air. If play isn't restarted within four seconds an indirect free kick will be awarded to the opposing team

• The 3m rule. Players are required to keep 3m from the player in possession of the ball on free kicks, corners, goal clearances, kick-ins and penalties.

• Goalkeepers. Goalkeepers are allowed to come out of the penalty area and players are allowed to go into the penalty area. Goal kicks can be taken anywhere in the area, but must be thrown under or over arm. Goalkeepers are not allowed to pick up back passes. When in possession with the ball in his area, the goalkeeper can not kick the ball out of his hands but can throw the ball both under and over arm.

• Sliding tackles – These are not allowed in Futsal, but players are allowed to slide on the pitch. For example to stop the ball going out of play. For a slide tackle a direct free kick will be given. For a player sliding to be considered an offence, the tackler’s opponent must have possession of the ball.

• Red Cards. If for any reason a player is sent off, the side is down to four men and can not directly replace that player. That player will also serve a one game suspension following the incident going into the next game. Any swearing what so ever will result in an automatic red card.

• Playing time - The games are 50 minutes long split into 2 x 25 minute halfs. All games will kick off at the same time under one time watch.
