UNBEATEN SIDES CLASH

By Steve Reynolds

Blues put their unbeaten record up against Gresley's 100% record in an intriguing clash at Harrison Park on Saturday.

Lee Casswell (pictured) will no doubt be reasonably satisfied with a game unbeaten game to start the season (two wins and two draws) but Gresley boast a 100% record and have yet to concede a goal in the league.

In fact the only goal they have conceded was against Blackstones last weekend in a 3-1 FA Cup victory.

Before that the newly-promoted side had beaten Market Drayton Town 2-0 and had a very impressive 1-0 at Carlton Town.

Leek for their part have a 100% record at home with 2-1 league win over Kidsgrove and an FA Cup victory over Evesham United by the same margin so far.

The two clubs have not met for three seasons when The Moatmen under their former guise of Gresley Rovers went into liquidation and reformed at a level two divisions lower.

However, two successive promotions have brought them back to the level they left in 2009.

Town will be looking for an improvement in their performance following the 1-1 draw at Newcastle Town and Casswell is expected to shuffle his pack in respect of his starting line-up compared with that which started at the Lyme Valley Stadium.
