Strong Start For Ladies Reservses

We had the opportunity to sit down with The Reserve's Head Coach Jason Lowther this week to talk about current preseason preparations since joining the blues,

"Well the newly formed Long Eaton United Ladies Reserves are settling in to their new home at Grange Park and the club could not have made them feel more welcome.

We have amazing facilities at Grange Park and a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure our players get what they need to prepare for the new season.

We have attracted some great sponsors this season with our long term sponsor B&S Roofing extending their support for another year, we have also been lucky enough to attract numerous player sponsors of which more information will soon be released,

On the training pitch we are focusing on our style of play and the players are working extremely hard. Naturally I'm in a lucky position as a coach as I've known some of the reserve team players for some time so it's just a case of revisiting individual development areas with some of them.

We have also got quite a few new faces in and some returning to us which will strengthen us further.

The biggest positive I have noticed is the fantastic welcome we have been given by the current squad of first team players, the players and I could not ask for more, it feels like one big team and under the guidance of head coach Will Brown and assistant Amy Buxton the players are being stretched and advancing at a rapid rate.

On the playing front we had our first friendly against Castle Donington winning 4-0.

The plan was to be calm out of possession and look for creativity in possession, we have two more games planned with a trip to Liverpool on the 13th August and a home game on the 27th before the start of the season on the 3rd September with a trip away to Cardiff City.

We've kept the 20th August free so we can take a trip to Rotherham to support the first team in their opening fixture"
