Morton took part in our first competative cricket of the season last night in the first round of the East Sixes.

Our first game was against an East Academy team who batted first and were restricted to 101 off 10 overs. This was a good bowling and fielding performance. Unfotunately it also proved to be the high point of the night as far as Morton were concerned. Batting second we were out in six or seven overs well short of the target with the old problem of poor running and calling costing us dear. In the second game the academy defeated Carlton despite a fine sixty odd from Matty Wells. In the third game Morton batted first against Carlton and were bundled out for 37. The highlight was a superb diving catch from Matt Wells to dismiss Matt Lancashire. Carlton knocked the runs off with no bother and ended a fairly dismal night for the Ton
