TWO tries apiece from Matty Welham and Lee Fewless helped Myton Warriors bag their third win of the season with a comprehensive 32-10 victory over Siddal at Marist Sports Ground.
The call from captain Steve Atkinson before the game was to get the enthusiasm back in the team after last week's derby defeat.
He said: "After the good start we got off to with two wins, our intensity had dropped and we were really disappointed with our last two displays, particularly last week against Dockers.
"I thought the lads responded brilliantly, especially in the forwards, our defensive speed off the line was back to its best."
Warriors stormed into a 16-0 lead with three tries inside the first 15 minutes.
Siddal's Chris Brooke's kick was charged down inside his own 20 and a quick play-the-ball resulted in Kris Walker sending Welham in. Ashley James missed the conversion.
Poor discipline from Siddal led to back-to-back penalties, which saw Fewless force his way over from close range, James converting.
Welham's chip through was fumbled over the try line and Lee James was on hand to pounce. James missed the conversion.
The last 10 minutes of the half saw Myton ease off the gas and Siddal scored two quick-fire tries.
Scott Caley and Luke Garnett crossed for the visitors and with Shawn Blackburn landing a conversion, it looked game on.
A penalty conversion on the stroke of half-time by James meant Myton went in at the break 18-10 up.
Fifteen minutes into the second half, Ricky Hough stripped the ball in a one-on- one tackle and a quick play- the-ball saw Welham scoot over from dummy half, James missed the conversion.
At 22-10 Siddal's fightback hopes were diminished when they had Gareth English sent off for a high tackle.
The Warriors capitalised by scoring two tries in the final 10 minutes.
Fewless notched his second with a barnstorming run from 10 metres out before Richard Dunham's pass sent Ashley James racing half the length of the field. He landed one of the two conversions to make the final score 32-10.
