The side opened the pool matches with a hard fought 17-10 win over Harlech, coming from behind to outscore their opponents by three tries to two. The second pool match ended with defeat against a strong and physical Bro Ffestiniog side, but finished the pool matches with an impressive 24-12 win over local rivals Llanidloes. As runners-up in the group, Town qualified for the main cup knockout stages, and faced pool winners and cup holders Aberystwyth in the quarter final. This was as far as Town were to progress, and they were well beaten by their more experience opponents who would go on to contest the final against Crymych. However, the team never stopped working, and can be proud of their performances throughout the day.
