Brods Girls - U15's

We are a friendly group who are keen to encourage girls on their rugby journey # This Girl Can

We are always looking to recruit new players from school years 9 & 10. We welcome absolute beginners as well as experienced players whether experienced in Union or League. We have a team of mixed ability with some long standing players who have developed with the Club from Year 7/U13s and girls who have never played rugby before and have proven to be naturals and thoroughly enjoy the game.

Our emphasis is on player development and enjoyment both as individual players and as a team, coaching the RFU Core Values: Teamwork - Respect - Discipline - Sportsmanship - Enjoyment.

Our Head Coach is Michael Booth who holds an England RFU Level 2 Coaching Licence. Michael has been with the Club for the past few years firstly as a parent, support Coach and then as U13's and now U15's Head Coach. His daughter Ella has been playing for several seasons at the Club progressing from total beginner through U13's into U15's.

Assisting Michael with the Coaching are Kevin Enright (daughters Ruby and Mya), Bob Dare and James Howarth (England RFU Level 2 Coaching Licence) and also holds a Level 2 First Aid and is a Level 2 Referee.

The U15s Team is managed by Louise Booth and Jacqui Hoyle.

Training takes place every Wednesday evening from 6.30pm – 8.00pm, with matches played on Sunday (times vary).

If you’d like to come along please either just turn up or contact Louise on 07545 861928 Or email lb.1970@live.com

TESTIMONIALS

I have played rugby since I was six years old along with the boys until I was twelve and no longer able to play rugby with them. I then had to find a girls team to play in . My friends from school had recently joined a new girls team at Morley RUFC and last season I played there. This season the team never got going and I had no games to play . Luckily a friend of dad was coaching at Old Brods and told my dad a bit about the set up and asked if I wanted to try training with them to see what I thought. I went along to training and straight away after the first training session I knew I had made the right decision to go to Brods. The training session was great fun and very physical which I never had at my previous training.

I was a bit unsure about joining a team where I didn’t know anyone but all the girls made me feel very welcome and after the first night I was put in their chat group and treated like I’d always been there. I had only joined just before Christmas and I received a Christmas card and a little gift and the message said ‘from your rugby family’ which I thought was very nice to say I’d just joined. Since I have joined the team I have brought three of my friends and all of them have been made so welcome just like I was.
