Old Street Legends beat the Bank

After some controversy as to where the match would be played the game finally kicked off in great conditions in front of a large crowd of supporters at Syon Lane.
Street went ahead with a score under the posts from Alex "dancing bear" Webb 7-0 but soon after Bank kicked a penalty to close the gap 7-3. After a series of penalties Street found themselves back in their 22 and Banks rather large pack drove over from a line out 7-8. From the restart Street battled their way into the oppositions 22 only to find the ball in the hands of a distinctly youthful looking winger who ran the length of the pitch to go in under the posts 7-15. At the break Old Street stalwart Jim Essex took control of the forwards and after a few tactical decisions put a stop to the Banks line out strengths and with this the tide began to turn with Tom Pugh kicking the first of two penalties and converted Webb's second try of the afternoon. 20-15 with 10 minutes left on the clock Harry Maynard went over for what would have been the decider only to be deemed short. Bank were awarded the scrum and up stepped said winger to take the ball deep into Streets half and what looked like a try when the linesman flag went up for a forward pass much to the relief of the Street contigent. However the last few minutes were played out with the Bank camped out on Streets line and the defense was immense with everyone determined not to allow them to cross, it was only when the loose ball bobbled across the line that an eagle eyed Tom Perry dived on it and the final whistle blew.
