STEEL CITY DONS 2 PARKGATE FC 3
Parkgate made an excellent start with good attacking football against a strong physical side and were rewarded with a well worked goal from Manny. 0-1
Despite the strong tackling from Steel City Dons, which the Parkgate players handled well, after fantastic passing Manny scored his second goal. 0-2
Within minutes Steel City Dons were awarded a corner from which they scored. 1-2
At half time Laslo came on for an injured Jackson.
A long throw resulted in Steel City Dons scoring. 2-2
Parkgate carried on attacking and playing good football while Steel City’s focus was playing long balls to their big strong forwards.
A free kick was awarded and Manny challenged for the ball which resulted in a Steel City defender sustaining a nasty head injury.
In extra time a free kick allowed Andre to play a ball towards the back post and Jenkinson soared above everybody with a header to score the winning goal. 2-3
Lee Morris, manager of Parkgate’s Under 18’s, said “I am really pleased with the commitment of our players today and they have seized all the opportunities and played well.”
