Rugby World Cup 2019

By DAVID BALL

England’s opponents for the 2019 Rugby World Cup are now confirmed after Tonga sealed their place in Pool C.

Eddie Jones’ side will face France, Argentina, United States and Tonga.
Henry Seniloli scored a hat-trick as Fiji defeated Samoa 38-16 to successfully defend their World Rugby Pacific Nations Cup title.
Samoa needed to get something out of the match if they were to claim the Oceania 2 spot, but their failure to do so means that Tonga instead complete the Pool C line-up.
The World Cup runs from 20 September to 2 November 2019 and the 12 teams who automatically qualified did so by finishing in the top three of their groups at the last World Cup.
The Samoans must now wait to learn the identity of the European team they will face next year to determine the Play-off Winner qualifier in Pool A.
If Samoa fail to take that route – by beating the winner of Czech Republic or Portugal versus the second-place team in the 2018 Rugby Europe Championship (excluding Georgia, who have already qualified) – they will be pitched into the global repechage tournament
