What a contrast to last Sunday; dry, sunny conditions and hopefully the chance for good running rugby.

What a contrast to last Sunday; dry, sunny conditions and hopefully the chance for good running rugby.

Having lost narrowly to Chinnor in the league some weeks back, this was an eagerly awaited re-match between to well match sides. 'Ensians were on a mission....

'Ensians had the early territorial advantage and it was from clean line out ball and a catch and drive move that we scored first; Holt touching down for an unconverted try. Big smile on coach Bloomfield's face!

Chinnor responded positively with quick ball that enabled their backs to attack at pace, breaching the home sides mid field to level the scores at 5 - 5. A similar situation shortly before half time presented Chinnor with a second try. 5 - 10 at half time.

Early in the second half full back Richardson caught a ball deep in his own half, set off with a couple of trade mark err... "side steps" and made good headway deep into the opposition half. Holt was on hand to support, and whilst he was hauled down just shy of the line, Lu was quick to react picking up the loose ball to score. A lovely try. Richardson then converted from a difficult angle. 12 - 10. Hurrah. Dull thud as kicking coach faints in the background.

Leicester scored the third of the afternoon when he capped an impressive personal performance by breaking right from deep in the oppositions half to score out right.

The pick of the scores was saved until last (sorry coach B.). Richardson and Cronin had switched, and it was Cronin at full back who caught a high, hanging ball mid way in his own half and confidently ran the ball back at the opposition. The lively Bright took a well timed pass on the half way line, lit the afterburners and showed what damage he can do given a little space to work in. He danced inside and out to finally touch down out on the left flank. Big smile on Coach Jones face.

Result; 22 - 10.

Another gutsy performance from the whole squad, with several impressive individual performances.

Well done to man of the man of the match Holt, who took the drink off comfortably!

Many thanks to Chinnor for making the long journey and another good match between well balanced sides.
