Shepshed missing some key first team squad travelled to Walsall Wood and gave 100% but it wasnt enough to stop Walsall Wood gaining the win.

With Shepshed playing various players out of position Wood exploited this early on with Boyce firing over the top near enough straight from kick off and a minute later Captain Louis Guest cleared from Gonzalez.

Shepshed began to get hold of the ball in midfield but Walsall were still causing the threat in front of goal Ryan Thacker saving from Forrest on fifteen minutes and a superb save from Jupson's header five minutes later.

On an awkward surface a slip by Guest allowed Butlin through but his effort went wide.

Shepshed first effort came on twenty eight minutes but Tommy Cooper - Richards shot went over Gill's goal, two minutes later from Alun Webb's free kick Guests header was saved by Gill. Shepshed had grew in confidence and three minutes on Webb's free kick found Sam Cook his shot saved by Gill but Rob Mulonga was offside for the rebound.

Shepshed's best effort of the half came two minutes from half time Webb's long distance effort was saved by Gill and into injury time unlike Saturday at Westfield's Guests header from a corner went wide.

Walsall took the lead on fifty minutes a cross field ball found Adcock on the left who controlled and shot a cross Thackers goal into the right hand corner.

Shepshed responded on sixteen minutes but Cooper - Richards effort went wide.

For the next five minutes Thacker was kept busy making four good saves.

The game swung back in Shepshed's favour on twenty two minutes Webb found Jake Lever but Gill saved and eight minutes later Gill raced out to avert Cooper - Richards.

Walsall Wood doubled heir lead on seventy six minutes Shepshed were caught on the counter with Jupson moving the ball onto Butlin who found Deakin to slot passed Thacker.

Shepshed never gave up six minutes later Lever's cross flashed across the box and Callum Thompson's shot was blocked.

Walsall Wood made it three as the game drew to a close a diving header from Black beating Thacker.
