Things got off to the perfect start for Shirebrook as they were ahead within 3 minutes when Declan Brewin was played in down the left and he raced into the box but his powerful shot was parried into the path of Mark Robinson and he made no mistake from 6 yards out and minutes later Shirebrook almost had a 2nd but Daniel Williams saw his shot saved by the Rossington keeper but the rest half saw Rossington in total control with them dominating the ball and having the better of the chances but Shirebrook managed to keep everything out and went into the break with a slender advantage.
Shirebrook looked a different team in the 2nd half and extended the lead in the 48th minute when Declan Brewin was played in 1 on 1 with the Rossington keeper and as he went to round the keeper he was tripped and the ref was left with no option but to point to the penalty spot Brewin got up to take the penalty and despite the Rossington keeper diving the right way he couldn’t stop the penalty and things got even better for Shirebrook in the 56th minute when Carter Widdowson smashed a free kick into the bottom corner to put Shirebrook in full control of the game and with 15 minutes to go the game went from bad to worse for the Rossington keeper when he was given his marching orders for something he said to the officials and Shirebrook took full advantage of the out field player being in goal when they scored a 4th in the 77th minute after Carter Widdowson cross found an unmarked Sam Martin at the back post and he made no mistake from the edge of the 6 yard box to put the gloss on an excellent 2nd half performance.
