CLUB TOGETHER: Rugby charity Bike Ride comes to Southwold!

By roger felton

A cycle ride of over 300 miles visiting 10 rugby clubs for the Wooden Spoon rugby charity visits Southwold RFC on Sunday 10th September.

The club welcomes around 60 cyclists on Sunday 10th September around midday. The riders are raising more than £80,000 for Wooden Spoon over an exhausting 3 days.

Our Minis and Youth will all be training on the Common that day and it is hoped that we can all line York Road and give them a rousing send-off - after they have lunched in the clubhouse.

The event is a rugby themed cycle event with three main objectives:

1. Raise a life-changing amount of money for community based charities in our region – Wooden Spoon have been chosen as the primary charity but others could also be supported.
2. Create friendships and foster camaraderie across the Norfolk and Suffolk rugby community.
3. Promote healthy lifestyles and have fun.
