A few minutes later, John King had a excellent chance but his shot was straight at Danny Roberts in the Witton goal and the shot stopped blocked the ball with his legs.
Five minutes into the second half, Witton added a third. Rob Hopley held of the Daniels defence and with Donkin wrong footed the Witton forward rolled the ball into the corner of the net.
Stamford had chances to find a way back into the game with Roberts flapping at a Daniels corner but no Stamford player was on hand to take advantage and then Jack Oldham had a shot which flew over the home sides crossbar.
With ten minutes remaining, Stamford got a goal back. John King weaved his way past several Witton defenders and slotted the ball past the home keeper.
