We arrived at Foxhole to find we were pitting our witts against a much younger Foxhole side than we had faced 3 weeks previous, with a number of 2nd team players boosting their numbers. As would be expected with any team Ali Milton puts out, they battled from start to finish and made it a very difficult afternoon for us.
Setting up without skipper Dayll Beesley for the first time this season, who was serving his one game ban for the unjust incident in the semi final, we continued with the central defensive pairing of Ted Meagor and Sam Cleave, which we had been able to trial last week in our cup victory over St Cleer.
We started the game brightly and Foxhole also did too, with their young team looking to get the ball forwards quickly to test us out at the back.
On 5 minutes we were able to release Dan Cox down the right flank and his whipped in cross fell to Corey Cleave at the far side of the 6 yard box. He collected the ball well, turned and fired home for 1-0.
The rest of the half was a tense affair as Foxhole caused us as many problems as we caused them. One outstanding save from Chris Andrews kept us in the lead.
Then as half time approached, another driving run forwards from Dan Cox sent in a cross that fell invitingly for Stuart Parkyn and he fired in from just outside the left side of the box in to the far top right corner. A beautiful finish to cap off a great team move.
Half time: Foxhole Stars 0 - 2 St Minver 1sts
We chatted at half time about how we needed to take more care of the ball as a team and be aware of their speed over the top.
In to the 2nd half and both teams had chances to change the result but no one could find that moment of magic to change the outcome. We had a goal disallowed for an alleged push and Foxhole hit the bar and Chris Andrews made another top save to protect our clean sheet.
We introduced Mike Kempthorne, Dan Colwill and Ed Green to freshen things up and tighten up in defensive areas.
The end of the game came with our clean sheet in tact and another 3 points in the bag. Never a classic but at the end of the season this is 3 hard earned points to add to our total.

We wish Foxhole all the best and know that their investment in youth should pay off in coming seasons.
Thanks also to all the players and fans who supported our Quiz Night in the evening with prizes and teams entered as we raised around £150 towards the running of the club and continuing our ability to compete each week.
Next weekend we currently have no fixture. Also, it has been announced that our KMD Developments Knock Out Cup Semi Final versus Biscovey will take place at Godolphin FC under lights on the evening of Wednesday 6th April with a 19:00 kick off.
