Stobswell travelled to Forthill on Saturday and continued their solid start to the season with a convincing 63-9 victory over Panmure.
A hat-trick each from Mark Gibson and Adam Granger, aswell as tries for Charles Cook, Chris Hems and Chris Grieve completed the rout as Stobswell continue their push for a top four place.
This was a fairly comprehensive victory for Stobswell despite the best efforts of the referee to disrupt the rhythm and momentum of the side.
Stobswell led 42-3 at the break and although the record books will show that Adam Granger scored a first half try the credit must surely go to Graeme Craig and his two props, James Ewing and Tam Johnston, for winning the ball at the scrum against the head that allowed Adam to power over for his try.
The second half was an extremely frustrating one with the referee stopping and starting the match at every opportunity to take the sting out of it. Stobswell still managed to run in three converted tries towards the end of the half, though.
The club have now won their opening two league fixtures and will look to make it three wins from three when they travel north to take on an experienced Arbroath side.
Final Score: Panmure 2nd XV 9-63 Stobswell
