Stobswell opened their league campaign in Anstruther for the second running, and just like last season returned to Dundee with a bonus point victory.
A hat trick of tries from new Stand Off Hamish, and a brace of tries from Johnny at Inside Centre saw the visitors see off a spirited Waid comeback.
It wasn't all good news for Stobswell though as Prop Finlay MacCuish and Second Row Jordan Kingston limped off in the first half and could be out for a while. On top of that, Andy Dixon left the park with a dislocated shoulder and could be missing for a couple of months.
Stobswell host new boys Bridgehaugh RFC next week at Downfield Park and will be looking to build on this opening victory.
